Names
Amburi (Ambur)
Archer, bowman, Sagittarius. Close to Maleva and Uus-Maleva, and hence member of a mini military mêlée. See Kilbi.
Andrekse (Andres)
Name of a farm once located on or near the site. Also a diminutive/affectionate genitive of the name Andres/Andreus, meaning manly, masculine, plucky, etc. Other variants of this very popular name include Andi, Ando, Andu, Andrias, Ant (from Andi), but not Ants (from Hans).
Angerja (Angerjas)
Eel, Anguilla anguilla. Probably named after those found in the nearby former marshland of Kalamäe soo (fish-hill marsh, see Erika).
Angerpisti (Angerpist)
Dropwort, fern-leaf dropwort, a herb sometimes known as queen of the meadow, Filipendula vulgaris. Street still, it seems, a muddy track. (To be continued.)
Angervaksa (Angervaks)
Another dropwort, Filipendula ulmaria, often known as meadowsweet or mead wort, a common plant in the Mustjõe valley area (see its congeneric Angerpisti). Its earlier bad karma of tarmac negativity is being cured by the creation of a pleasant walkway, from the now-demolished railway bridge over Ristiku to Sõle, with well-designed paths, resting-stops and more to come.
