Silmu (Silm)

Lamprey. Two sorts: jõesilm, European river lamprey, Lampetra fluviatilis, and ojasilm, European brook lamprey, L. planeri. Interestingly, aged 21, Sigmund Freud wrote a paper on the anatomy of the lamprey’s notochord (Über den Ursprung der hinteren Nerven-wurzeln im Rückenmark von Ammocoetes Petromyzon planeri [name since corrected]).
