Merinõela (Merinõel)

Broad-nosed pipefish, Syngnathus typhle, related to the sea-horse and looks (with a bit of imagination) like one that’s been straightened out, hence its name (literal translation) of ‘sea needle’. Part of a fish group. See also Nigli.
