Lõhmuse põik (Lõhmus)
Linden, lime tree. Odd one! Originally crossing its parent street Lõhmuse tänav west to east at two points, almost the opposite of a põik or põiktänav (see Auru põik), i.e. a parallel pair of 2 umbtänavad (culs-de-sac). This explosive situation was too much for the streetnames commission and Lõhmuse põik was renamed in an orgy of arboreal scattershot: ‘top left’ – Tuhkpuu; ‘top right’ – Kontpuu; ‘bottom left’ – Pukspuu; & ‘bottom right’ – Läätspuu, the latter having a northward-directing umbtänav (cul-de-sac) of its own.
