Lemle (Lemmel)
Duckweed, gibbous or otherwise, but in Estonia probably common duckweed, Lemna minor. Other names include konnaläätsed (frog lentils), seauba (pig bean), päevaseep (day soap), and, curiously, tiigieile (pond last-nighter / yesterdayer), thus named due to it being a ‘short-day plant’ requiring a critical minimum length of night to flower. Small aquatic-plant group in the Kakumäe peninsula. See Särjesilma.
Lõimise (Lõimis)
Grading-curve, granulometric composition or grain size (if you really want a really impressive address, this is the one: “Come back to my place, I live at 29c Granulometric Composition Rd...”). Mini-group of road-material-related roads close to… some wasteland used to store the stuff?... See Saviliiva.
Maimu (Maim)
Immature fish, whitebait, smelt, fry once developed from larva, or even baby anything. Part of a fish group. Also a woman’s name that appears to have been created in 1886 by 20-year-old Georg Eduard Luiga, later editor-in-chief of Päevaleht (see Mändmetsa J.), in his story Muruneid (fairy of the greensward), a probable reference to the Kalevipoja’s Murueit, queen / mother of the fairies / greensward. As will Daenerys, the name had its fifteen minutes then faded away. See also Merihärja.
Mardipere (Mardipere)
Martin’s home(stead), former farm name. Farm group. See also Põllumäe.
