Lõhmuse põik (Lõhmus)
Odd one! Originally crossing its parent street Lõhmuse tänav west to east at two points, almost the opposite of a põik or põiktänav (see Auru põik), i.e. a parallel pair of 2 umbtänavat (culs-de-sac). This explosive situation was too much for the streetnames commission and Lõhmuse põik was renamed in an orgy of arboreal scattershot: ‘top left’ – Tuhkpuu; ‘top right’ – Kontpuu; ‘bottom left’ – Pukspuu; & ‘bottom right’ – Läätspuu, the latter having a northward-directing umbtänav (cul-de-sac) of its own.
Looklev (Adj.)
Winding, serpentine, meandering. Said to be named after its appearance which, bar one kink and half a curve, is straight as a die and T-shaped.
Loometsa (Loomets)
Possibly forest swathe, or a wood on limestone with stunted trees. Streetname apparently replacing that of the eastern stretch of Alvari.
