Names
Paavli (Paavel)
Paul, perhaps a common-or-garden first or family name, perhaps after a one-time local resident but, given that the horrid agnostics across the border defrocked him (1950-1990) in favor of Popovi A., they too might have guessed the saint (feast day 25th January).
Paberi (Paber)
Paper, after the paper factory whose chimney can stlll be seen adjoining Stockmann on Liivalaia. Street (and factory?) seems to have existed between 1950 and 1974. Prior to this, known first as Clasingstraße (1893), through Klasingi on the Pharus map, to Klaasingi, but details lacking.
Padriku (Padrik)
Thicket, coppice.
Padu (Padu)
Low, wet place or waterlogged ground, or dense shrubbery. Parallel to Vete.
Pae (Paas)
Limestone. One of a rock-based neighborhood. See its synonym Paekivi.
