Not a street, but the one-time horse-powered mill at the end of Lai. Hobu is short for and/or a stylistic version of hobune:hobuse, horse (see Hobujaama). Possibly shortened here for simpler pronunciation. See Veski.

This started with a book (last few pages under review) and only 486 of the 1855 articles, A to J and part through K, entered so far, so many links going nowhere.
I've heard that a company that uses its owner's name is more trustworthy because they've put themselves on the line.
This is me, in Tallinn this spring (2025), on a 3-month spree to check details, take photos (about 12K), explore (ave. 15K/day), and so on. I think I covered every streeet in Kesklinn (apart from Mõigu), most of Põhja-Tallinn and some Kristiine.
