Teelehe (Teeleht)

Plantain or fleawort, Plantago spp. Its rather misleading name has nothing to do with tea, but seems to be based on its Latin name derived from planta (sole of the foot) and suffix -ago (‘sort of’; cf. virago, ‘like a man’) for commonly growing almost flat at ground level, and tee, of course, means road or path. It can, however, be used in various herbal ‘tea’ remedies for coughs, constipation or diarrhea, and preventing cuts becoming infected.
